Our CEO, Theresa Barnes, was divinely inspired to write, create, and produce music that touches the hearts of all people. Yes, all people, regardless of their circumstances.

In our mission, we encounter the Sparrows - the homeless, widows, orphans, and children facing mental illness. They carry the weight of hunger, hardships, disappointments, and life's disasters. But fear not, for Theresa understands the power of music therapy, a revolutionary technique that helps individuals navigate emotional distress. It gives them a voice to express their grief, anger, and trauma, leading to a deeper understanding of their emotions and improved emotional well-being. 

With this in mind, SLG MUSIC has birthed two songs, "Eyes On The Sparrow" and "We Could Take It On," inspired by the timeless wisdom of the Bible's book of Matthew. But that's not all - our program director has crafted five incredible programs, designed to provide support to those we serve all year round. 

Imagine the joy of sipping coffee while engaging in heartfelt conversations during our "Coffee and Conversation" sessions. Picture the strength of “Wonder Woman Wednesday”, where we celebrate the resilience and power of women. Feel the warmth spread as we embark on our mission to "Keeping the City Warm." And let us not forget the gratitude and impact we create through "Thankful Thursdays/Impact" and "World Food Day." But it doesn't stop there. We have woven the essence of our programs into our music, creating songs that truly speak for the people. "She's Homeless," "Susie," "A Mother's Love," and "Heart of the East" are a testament to their stories, their struggles, and their triumphs. And in a powerful call to unity, we present "DC Unity" and "RISE" - two community songs that beckon us to come together. On January 23rd, 2024, we celebrated our 7th Anniversary with a project close to our hearts. 

Theresa, in her infinite talent, produced an 11-track LP called "White Butterfly." This masterpiece is a tribute to our late founding sparrow, Stephene Florian Chawala. Within its melodies, you will find "Blessings on Blessings," a song that encapsulates the past seven years of serving over 100,000 individuals and families. It is a testament to God's grace that propels us from glory to glory. 

Prepare to be moved by the eight inspirational tracks that follow. "Meant to Be," "Believe," "Jewels in Her Crown," "Glory," "His Eye is on the Sparrow," "Good Girl, Bad World," "God Promises," and "Love Always Wins" will ignite a fire within your soul.
