Heart of the East
is Sparrows Landing Global's largest international outreach initiative, dedicated to serving homeless and impoverished individuals and families across East Africa.
Since 2017, Sparrows has tirelessly served countless individuals in Tanzania and Kenya.
Through acts of kindness, we reach out to serve disabled children, widows, orphans, children, and people experiencing homelessness, particularly in the slum areas of Ruaka, Githogoro, and Kibera Slums in Nairobi, Kenya, as well as in Kilifi County in Mombasa, Kenya. Additionally, we support Dar es Salaam, Newala-Mtwara, Mwanza, and Morogoro in Tanzania and have aided numerous individuals in Cairo, Egypt.
Our mission is to tread on every inch of East African soil, spreading hope and enriching lives by touching the hearts and minds of those in need. We have also extended our support to schools in Tanzania, including Mjimwema Primary School in Dar-es-Salaam and The Luchingu Primary School in Newala-Mtwara, Tanzania.
Additionally, our outreach has reached The Umbrella Orphanage in Nairobi, Kenya, the Chonyi and Chibana tribes in Mombasa, Kenya, and the Amani Vision Centers in Nairobi, Kenya.
In Newala-Mtwara, Tanzania, we have supported blind people and the physically impaired disability community by supplying collapsible canes and UV sunglasses to protect their eyes from the sun at virtually any angle. These efforts aim to alleviate the challenges faced by blind and physically disabled individuals in their daily lives.
